Friends of The Kensico Cemetery, Inc. (“Friends of Kensico Cemetery”) has announced the return of the popular Historical Walking Tours throughout the grounds. These tours will be held in addition to exciting new Tree Tours, as part of the public programming for The Kensico Cemetery Arboretum. These engaging experiences provide a unique opportunity for visitors to delve into the rich history and natural beauty of Kensico Cemetery. All tours will be in May and held from 5:30-7:00 PM.

The Ossipee and Tower Loop Tours will once again captivate participants with intriguing stories and fascinating highlights. The Ossipee Loop Tour will be held on Tuesday, May 7th, and Thursday, May 9th, 2024, or visitors can explore The Tower Loop Tour on Tuesday, May 14th, and Thursday, May 16th. Led by Patrick Raftery, Associate Director/Librarian at Westchester County Historical Society and a board member of Friends of Kensico Cemetery, Inc., these tours promise to uncover captivating tales from the past.

The Tree and Landscape Tour makes its debut on the last two Thursdays of May (23rd and 30th). The May 23rd tour will be guided by David Prosser, ISA Certified Arborist and Land Steward of Pound Ridge Land Conservancy. The May 30th tour will be guided by Mike Cook, ISA Certified Arborist and Superintendent of Grounds at Kensico Cemetery. These tours offer a fresh perspective on the intertwining of nature and history within the grounds. All tours are free of charge, but reservations are required. Directions and additional details will be provided in the confirmation email.
