Learn essential considerations and techniques for tree planting to cultivate your green thumb and learn more about reforestation. Kensico’s Superintendent of Grounds Mike Cook and Frank Molina of Davey Tree Experts will offer tips on positioning, tree care, soil, and provide a comprehensive Sugar Maple tree planting demonstration on Kensico’s grounds. Come prepared with questions and wear comfortable shoes for a guided walk in The Kensico Cemetery Arboretum to the demonstration location.
This educational program is free and is being offered as part of Kensico’s recent achievement as a Level II Arboretum accredited by ArbNet, but reservations are required via the RSVP function below. You will receive a confirmation email of your RSVP.
Details and Directions: Participants should follow the event directional signs at 273 Lakeview Avenue to get to the Maintenance Building on the property adjacent to the main Administration Building. Staff will be there for check-in and parking.
Restrooms are available before the event begins. We recommend comfortable walking shoes.
